Big goals start with small steps.
Hi, I'm Megan - the mum behind Growing Goals Co. I have three sons and, like most parents, I want them to grow into confident, capable adults who feel in control of their money rather than anxious about it.
But here's the thing that kept nagging me: no one really teaches kids this stuff. We hand our children more and more independence yet somehow expect them to just figure money out along the way. I didn't want that for my boys, and I didn't want it for other Kiwi kids either.
So I started creating the resources I wished I'd had. Not lectures or complicated financial concepts, but simple, hands-on habits learned through real life - saving for something that matters, spending thoughtfully, earning their own way, giving back and celebrating every little win.
That's how My First Money Journal was born: a warm, guided way for children to learn through conversations, challenges and goal-setting, at their own pace, with you alongside them.
And this is only the beginning. I'm building Growing Goals as a system that grows with your child - from their very first pocket money right through to their first pay cheque - because money confidence isn't a one-off lesson. It's a journey.
I truly believe that if we give this generation the right habits early, we change the way they feel about money for life. That's the difference I want to make - one confident kid at a time.
